Jana competed on a high level on the junior tennis circuit and eventually became a recruited athlete to Cornell University, where she found her passion for genetics. She went on to the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health and completed a Master of Science in genetic counseling. Jana joined the Cord Blood Registry in 2006, working on clinical trials and other research activities. She is also interested in personalized genomics and has consulted for various laboratories. Jana uses her background in science and her people and management skills to help the ALBA lab run efficiently and create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for the staff and the patients and research participants we serve. Outside of work, Jana and her family enjoy volunteering at Glide Memorial kitchen, she is a Board member of the Cornell Tennis Alumni association, an active volunteer with the United States Tennis Association and on committees in her neighborhood in SF. Jana has twins, a son and a daughter. She loves to ski, try new restaurants, play tennis and hang out with the two family dogs.
